It's All About Me

My photo
Old enough to know better, but at age 50 I started a second career as a Mixed Media Artist. Inspired by a friend who suggested I research Altered Art I found what I do, and what I need to feed my muse. I have been published* I have been purchased* I have been SOLD! at an exhibit* I have been invited to share and teach* I have been blessed that I have friends who "get it";

Junk Mail Collage and Recyle Your Life Trash

You know, I am a good junk mail shredder, and have saved some really cool pieces for examples of "stuff" that can be used in a "different" way.

I am collecting several sample of re-usable mail for a project I will propose to Val over at the Village Bookstore, some Saturday Make and Take things. For folks to do AFTER they have bought some books from the shop.. lol

Besides other useful ways to use your junk mail, instead of tossing it or shredding it, I will propose the way to re-use cardboard cereal boxes.

We have not changed over to a plastic bag type of cereal, because my hubby eats a name brand for the 100% of his daily vitamins and minerals.. kwim?

I took the box, which is a larger one, and made it into a holder for my clip board that I "art" on, and would like to keep it clean as possible. I do doodle art on it and the board itself is decorated..

Folders, etc can be made easily, and decorated to hold recipes, patterns, notebooks.

The sky is the limit.. it should be fun to plan and execute

Slap ME! I am working my arse off!

The remodel project is going and going and going

Most folk could not even imagine getting up early in the morning and kissing the spouse bye-bye and painting a wall before jumping in the shower and leaving for the office...

Most folk call me crazy anyway...

I Quit

I managed to give in to my muse, and I quit the Artist Guild.

It was not a hard decision, just a worrisome one.

The energy spent was not given back, by that I mean what I gave was not returned, or I didn't feel I gave anything of any meaning or contributed in any way.

New blood is always needed in groups to shake up the membership, open eyes and share ideas and such.

For some reason I could not get behind anything that was going on, and I guess the sense of no organization, not that the Christmas Sale wasn't organized, because it has been going on for 30 years, and needed some new ideas, but just not what I was looking for.

I know this is disjointed but it is how I am right now... disjointed..

Renovation is eye opening

Do I know how much stuff I really have?

Not until it is packed into my living room and dining room.

I will be sorting for months, but I am going to load the van up every time I hesitate over something, and give it to AGAPE or start putting things in the consignment shop.

The floor plan

Demo was started this weekend, and in the heat it was great to start in the early morning to get stuff going before the humidity caught up with me.

Dragging debris to the trailer, tearing up carpet and such was not too bad.

Moving everything that had to go so that the room was empty for demo, means putting everything in the living room and dining room... wow...
the green lines are where the closet walls were knocked down
the pink lines are the book case wall that is coming out Friday night

Knock Knock

It is my fairy godmother?

This is the big Bash Weekend in town, and The Village Bookstore is going to have some of my art in the "artist nook"

happy dance

I hope to sell some crafty crap to have some pocket money, I am not able to buy materials for the new studio if I dont have pocket money!

Suddenly

A new wing for the play house

After a bit of thinking I have agreed that it would be a cool idea to knock down some walls.

The studio will be under construction for a while, but the first thing I need to do is clear out the current studio, and then we can clear out the future studio.

YIPPEE

The long weekend will be one long work in progress, but how cool?!
